The Anambra state coordinator of the Good Governance Ambassadors of Nigeria (GOGAN) and frontline stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra state, Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo has lauded President Muhammadu Buhari’s signing of the N30,000 minimum wage as proposed by Labour into law.
The president signed the Minimum wage bill on Thursday and equally stated that the payment will commence in May 2019 to mark the international Workers’ Day.
Engr. Onunkwo while reacting to the signing, described it as a welcome development and should be commended by well meaning Nigerians.
He posited that by so doing, the president has renewed his favourable disposition to workers’ welfare.
In his words, “Indeed, this is a welcome development and shows the predisposition of Mr. President to the welfare of the Nigerian workforce.
By this singular act, the president has shown that he is not fair weather politician who thrive on empty promises during campaigns but one who walks his talk.
“President Buhari has again proved critics wrong on his path towards making Nigeria great. He has exhibited high class of integrity and equally shown he remains a man of his words.
“I must congratulate Mr. President for again giving doubting Nigerians reasons to believe in his drive and passion of a better Nigeria where the genuine needs and aspirations of Nigerians are attended to.
“I have never been waivered on my support for Mr. President as I’ve been long convinced that he remains the saving grace Nigeria needs. I keep re-emphasizing that posterity would remain ever grateful to President Buhari.
“Nigeria is on the path of greatness and we should remain grateful to God that poachers and those who milked our nation dry for sixteen years did not succeed in their quest to take Nigeria back to the dark days.
“As can be seen in some states where development projects are halted immediately after elections, President Buhari has shown class and integrity as a talk and do president. My fellow Ndi Anambra would attest to the fact that the pace of work on the long abandoned Enugu-Onitsha road has increased geometrically”.
The philanthropist urged Ndi Igbo and Nigerians to rally round and support Mr. President totally as he takes Nigeria through the voyage of recovery and rebuilding. For Enquiries - Publications or Advert Placements:
